Primary Purpose of the job:

The incumbent will be responsible for advising and guiding the implementation of the company’s Safety Programme within the designated area of responsibility.

Key Performance Areas:

• Assist with formulating and revising the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) programme.
• Develop and present occupational health and safety training courses and induction modules relevant to the needs of the company to all levels of employees.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions, evaluate the risks and recommend control measures.
• Assist with compiling safe working procedures and methods statements
• Coordinates and carries out planned and unplanned physical inspections in all business units to identify hazardous physical conditions and deviations from procedures and standards.
• Conduct SHE risk assessment in conjunction with the management and SHE representatives.
• Attend SHE committee meetings.
• Conduct SHE investigations in conjunction with the relevant line managers/supervisors.
• Monitor and assist compliance with statutory requirements and other SHE requirements.
• Conduct SHE induction.
• Perform emergency drills.
• Manage contractors working at NamPower premises.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

• A relevant Degree in Safety Management (NQF Level 7)
• Three (3) years’ experience SHE management
• Code 08 [BE] drivers’ licence.
